Our Process

Discovery

Before pencil hits, paper, or adobe launches, we start every project off with discovery. We meet face to face (digital/physical) and have a conversation to gather as much information as we can about the task at hand. We ask relevant questions, take notes, and pinpoint your objectives.

After we have gathered this information, we draft a creative brief. We reference this brief throughout the creation of your designs and refer to it to keep both our client and ourselves accountable for the project's objectives.

Conduct Research

Now that we have a clear idea of what we will need to create the graphic your brand deserves. We conduct a bit of research, first looking into market trends, then conducting a comparative analysis on similar businesses and organizations. From there, we look into designs, colors, and textures that are often associated with your work

Though the research requires some time and effort, it is worth it in the long run.

Develop Concepts

We develop an overwhelming number of drafts and then whittle them down to the creme de la creme.

Present

Now with our best concepts in hand, we all gather together to present our work. We explain why we chose these drafts. After the presentation, we allow you to share your opinion, and we make necessary adjustments to those drafts.

Production

Our design(s) are now complete and ready to be seen by your audience and the world at large!

Our Process

Goal Identification

We kick off our process by identifying the end goal of the website. We ask questions to get a better idea of what you expect from the website and, more importantly, what the end-users are visiting the website for. Establishing clear goals upfront allows us to stay on track as we make our way through the web design process.

Scope Definition

To avoid failing to deliver a website that meets the goals you set out the meet, we create a Gantt chart. This chart appoints a realistic timeline for the project, including important markers, to set boundaries and achieve deadlines.

Sitemap

With our scope defined, now we can finally get into designing the website! Woohoo! The first step is the sitemap. Think of it as a blueprint. It explains the website’s information architecture and the relationship between web pages and content elements

Content Creation

Now that we have the website framework in place, we combine forces to create content! I follow your lead in this case, as you provide the bulk of the content. I provide guidance on what keywords and phrases to include in your content for SEO purposes. When the content is ready to go, we edit the content as needed to improve its readability.

Visual Elements

At this point in the process, I create the visual style for the website. The existing brand identity shapes the look and feel of the site. No need to reinvent the wheel, so we set the colors, fonts according. Then I add relevant, high-quality images that help reinforce the content on the site.

Testing

With all the visuals and content in place, the website is ready for testing. In this step, using a checklist, I thoroughly comb the website for errors. Checking for broken links, website load times, and a smorgasbord of other technical items that could cause issues.

Launch

Once every feature has been thoroughly tested and you are happy with it. Now comes everyone’s favorite part! The launch! Tailor your expectations because no launch goes off without a hitch
( CC: NASA ). Some elements may still need tinkering with. Web development is an ongoing and fluid process that requires constant maintenance. So think of the launch as the beginning of a different phase and not the project’s end.
